06 Equinox with multiple cracking noises when making a left turn. Suspension has been checked. Struts have about 55,000 on them. Car feels like it is "drifting when at highway speeds. Seems to have a slight hesitation when initiating the left turn. Steering rack?? Struts?

Ya suspension or steering. CV joint maybe. Different tires can also make these sounds. I mention that because of the drifting different or one tire overinflated or under inflated. Also find a good hill without too much traffic. Let your car roll down the hill without applying the brakes at all just let it come to a stop on its own and then immediately jump out and feel the rotor or area where the pad would have rubbed against. If it's hot as though the brake had been applied your brake system could be sitting slightly off. Could be just a loose but or something. It would explain the noise on turning and drifting as the pad may be slightly robbing all the time.
Heard timing chain maybe too. Doesn't explain drifting but could be a separate issue.

Good Luck and please let me know what it was.
