I have an 06 equinox with the 3.4 AWD. my hanger is completely shot for the rear driveshaft. I work at a salvage yard and my work, nor any yards close by have one available. My question is, has anyone tried or found a rear ds out of anything else that would fit and work without too much modification?

I'm not sure what part you're looking for, but Rockauto.com has the mid-shaft bearing & bearing support listed as in stock. AutoZone may have them, as well.

Saturn vue? Gm did change DS hub in 07 so a torrent or equinox DS from 07 won’t work

Changing that bearing is not an easy task. Check the Haynes/Chilton. I bought this complete driveshaft from Amazon for my 2008 and had it at my house in a few days. About $340 delivered. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LQYR49J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Looks like they're out of stock right now (11/28/2022). Took about 30 minutes to change. Probably saved a few hours of cursing. Well worth the money.

[UPDATE]
Just noticed that it's not for 2006. They have the 2006 available for cheap! https://www.amazon.com/Bodeman-Driveshaft-Propshaft-Replacement-2005-2006/dp/B09T6SLQQZ

Thanks for the link.

Need to replace my driveshaft on 2007 as the U joint just exploded today.

Is there anything special with positioning the replacement driveshaft? The reason I ask is I have seen videos that state to mark the driveshaft at both ends before removing to make sure it doesn't vibrate after re-installing.

Is the replacement as easy as it seems, just remove and replace with new one?

Thank you.
