It all depends on maintenance from what I've seen. If you keep up with maintenance, these seem to last well unto the 200k mile mark. I've been doing oil changes at 3500-4000 miles, full synthetic DEXOS oil and I've been checking my solenoids for wear/dirt/plastic bits and haven't seen them...
Any codes? Engine light on? I had that issue and I had to replace the gas pedal because there is a throttle sensor there.
Regarding the cat, how many miles? These seem to be bad at killing them early.
Can you tell if the compressor kicks on when it's not getting cold? If it is, then it's probably a blend door actuator in the dash. If it doesn't kick on, it might have to do with the intake system. Weird thing that happened on my son's Malibu: I disconnected the Mass Airflow Sensor to clean it...
Well, I got no answers from the group, so I decided to go ahead and change the CV Axle, and it did get rid of the clicking, in case anyone else has the same problem. Even if your boot is intact, if it's clicking when turning, more than likely it's your CV Axle
