Intermittent problem;

Radio dead after starting car; screen dark, radio controls not working on stack and on steering wheel, turn signals work but without sound, blue tooth connection to cell phone works but driver can not hear, outside party can hear. HVAC controls seem to work okay.

Will clear by turning car off and restarting (some times) but time display off and radio looses station channel programing.

Will be taking vehicle to dealer for oil change soon, is there a TSB on this problem so I can refer the service writer to it?

Thanks

Dusty

I don't think that I have heard of this... I remember a recall on the HVAC control unit but don't know if this was the cause for all this...

Let me do some looking around!

Welcome to the site, BTW!!! :waytogo:

I had an issue last weekend, where the LCD display froze the HVAC settings, they still changed VIA the controls. Shut off the car, restarted and it cleared up just fine. Only time will tell if it happens again.

Maybe 3 times I have started up the Terrain and no FM, am works and the songs I have on the hard drive work, just no FM stations.
Strange, very strange.

I took my 2010 Equinox in today to address the radio issue I described above. Tech checked radio power and grounds, tested okay. Tech found bulletin 09-08-44-020c program radio, Tech programed radio.

Oil change and radio program - 4 1/2 hours total.

I had forgotten to mention while there I was approached by the service writer and was told I had carbon buildup in my engine and I needed it cleaned out, costing only $140. At 17,800 I can't believe that this was nothing more then an over ambitious service writer attempting to push the companies profit margins. When I asked him how could this be with such a low mileage vehicle he blamed it on the use of ethanol in todays gasoline.

Has anyone had an issue with carbon buildup in a low mileage vehicle? By the way the vehicle is mostly used for highway driving (50 mile per day).

I do not see how it would do that, I not sure how they would know unless it was running really bad.
Sounds like they were trying to make some free money off you.

Do you drive around at 20 mph all the time, that might do it.

My radio would not sync with my Ipad and would not go to other music sources except XM. Took it to the dealership since it is still under bumper2bumper warranty. Radio had to be ordered and I was put on a rental. I was on the assumption that a new radio was going to be installed but found out that it was a used unit. Transferring my XM subscription to this replacement unit was how I found out about it since the XM rep asked me if I knew this certain person who was the previous owner. Called GM Customer Support and told me that GM will replace parts that can be new or used based on availability. Oh well, as long as it works, I'm happy.

Radio Issue

I have a 2010 Equinox LS and have already had the HVAC recall issue taken care of. Over the last few days, I have had issues with the radio not coming on at start up of the vehicle, no display on the screen either. I push the power button and the radio and screen turn on briefly, then shuts down again. When I begin driving, however, the radio and display will come to life within five minutes and will work perfectly. Does anyone know if this is a code issue? Any advice would be appreciated.

Display fades

My 2010 Equinox has the nav radio and after a few minutes the display fades making the GPS and camera useless as you can't see. Anyone else have this issue?

I would highly recommend going to your local Chevy dealership to have the issue diagnosed. Depending on your mileage on the vehicle the dealership may be able to cover the issue under good faith. Or you can always call Chevrolet Customer service and open an issue with them.
