At 44K miles now all of a sudden I have this sqeaking sound like something dry rubbing. When stopped or at low speeds it exhibits this. Just turn the wheel and hear trhe humming and feel it in the steering wheel. Any thoughts? Do I need to lube anything I am not aware of? Thanks.

Don't all the 4 cyl models, 2010 - current, have electric steering? So no belt to even affect it.

I know GM did extend the warranty on the electric steering rack due to a "sticking" problem when driving long distances, but that is probably not part of the issue. There is probably some bearing in the shaft that may need some lubrication. On my previous GM car, the electric steering would loosen up and rattle on many of the cars. The solution for that was to replace the column. Hopefully that is not the solution for your problem.

Good luck!
